5. Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.

We may share your information with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating our business, including:

–       analytics providers — for website performance and traffic analysis (data shared in aggregate or anonymised form)

These providers are engaged under contractual obligations to handle your data securely and only for the purposes for which it is shared.

We may also disclose your information where required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Coe Design Studio or others.

6. Overseas Disclosure

Some of our third-party service providers (such as Squarespace and email platforms) may store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. We take reasonable steps to ensure that any overseas recipients handle your information in a manner consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve functionality and understand how visitors use our site. Cookies may be set by us or by third-party tools such as Google Analytics.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings. Please note that disabling cookies may affect the functionality of some parts of our website.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. Our website is hosted on Squarespace, which maintains industry-standard security practices.

No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure. While we do our best to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including to provide you with your purchased products, maintain our business records, and comply with legal obligations.

If you unsubscribe from our mailing list, we will remove you from active communications. You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us directly (see Section 11 below), subject to any legal requirements to retain certain records.

10. Your Rights — Access and Correction

Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:

–       access the personal information we hold about you

–       request correction of information that is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete

–       make a complaint about how we have handled your personal information

To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details in Section 12. We will verify your identity before releasing or amending any personal information, and will respond to your request within a reasonable timeframe.

If you are not satisfied with our response to a privacy complaint, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

11. Data Breaches

We take data security seriously and have measures in place to protect your personal information. In the event of a suspected or actual data breach, we will act promptly in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

11.1 What Is an Eligible Data Breach?

An eligible data breach occurs when:

–       there is unauthorised access to, or unauthorised disclosure of, personal information — and a reasonable person would conclude that this is likely to result in serious harm to any affected individual; or

–       personal information is lost in circumstances where unauthorised access or disclosure is likely to occur and would be likely to result in serious harm

11.2 Our Response Process

If we suspect an eligible data breach has occurred, we will:

–       conduct a reasonable and expeditious assessment within 30 days to determine whether a breach has occurred

–       if a breach is confirmed, prepare a statement describing the nature of the breach, the type of information involved, and recommended steps in response

–       notify affected individuals directly where practicable, or publish the statement on our website and take reasonable steps to publicise it where direct notification is not practicable

–       notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the NDB scheme

Mandatory notification is not required where we are able to take remedial action such that a reasonable person would conclude that the breach is not likely to result in serious harm to any affected individual.
